World and National Missions
The Great Commission calls us to share the Gospel of Christ with all nations. But how do missionaries get the support they need to live and serve abroad? We've responded to the call to global mission by financially supporting several missionaries and mission organizations overseas.
Tara Marsh
Overland Missions
Tara is an Ellwood City native who works with Overland Missions, an organization that serves 17+ nations worldwide. Marsh graduated from Geneva College in 2023. Shortly after finishing school, she began serving overseas will Overland Missions. She met her husband, Bud in the mission field, and the two of them continue to minister with Overland by gathering information on local mission sites, meeting with local missionaries and pastors, handling social media and merchandise for the organization's Missions Conference, training and mentoring other missionaries and more.

Presbytery Dominican Republic Medical Mission
Christ Presbyterian Church's own Dr. Sharon Dawso volunteers as a physician with the Presbytery Dominican Republic Medical Mission each year. Dawso and a group of medical professionals travel to Sabañeta de Yasica and provide free medical and dental care to those in need. Local Mission
Jesus tells us in Matthew 25, that when we serve those in need we are serving Christ Himself. Our church is dedicated to living as Christ's ambassadors by volunteering and financially supporting several local mission programs right here in Ellwood City Pa. that serve His people living in our own backyard.
Founded by Rev. Tod Custer in 2020, the Third Thursday Dinner provides hot carry-out meals to hungry people in our community. Meals are prepped, packed, and handed-out to the community in our parking lot the third Thursday of each month.
Our church supports the summer reading program at The Ellwood City Library. The library offers several activities designed to stimulate a love of learning through reading in our local children.
Christ Presbyterian Church financially supports the training and maintenance of equipment for the ECVFD. Rev. Tod Custer serves as the Fire Department's chaplain.
The Meals on Wheels Program involves a group of local volunteers who prepare and deliver nutritious meals to seniors in their homes.
Ministerium supports the local Food Bank to provide groceries and other goods to families in need.
The Backpack Program provides weekend meals and snacks to local school-aged children in need.
