About Our Production

The Boars head Festival dates as far back as the 1340s. The traditional Yule Log Ceremony was celebrated in the manor houses of England as a way to honor and remember the birth of Christ with medieval feasting, a retelling of the Biblical Christmas story and an offering of gifts to the Lord at the alter.

Our performers recreate this ceremony for modern-day audiences and bring the Biblical account of Christ's birth to life during the second half of the production. We welcome hundreds of people to our church to watch the performance across two weekends during the Advent season.

Our cast strives to bring Advent hope to your family by reminding you of our Savior's humble beginnings in a manger.

Our church got the rights to the Boars Head Festival from Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church in 1980 and held its first performance that year. The church continued to perform it annually until the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Our performers returned to the stage in 2022 and the show has gone on every year since.

Our show is an immersive experience for audiences. The sanctuary serves as our stage with over 100 performers wearing medieval period attire while singing and interacting with audience members in the church aisles. Watch the church become a manor home before your eyes as the children decorate the church and listen to our live choir and orchestra playing Christmas favorites throughout the performance.

To the left, our organist plays every song live throughout the entire performance.

"We always enjoy the choir and the orchestra. Our most enjoyable part is near the end of the production when the cast is all up front and the scene shows Jesus in the manger and everyone is worshiping Him!"

Boars Head Audience Member

"I loved being able to be a part of a show with my friends at such a young age. It was fun being able to perform in front of my friends and family and get some performance experience while sharing a Biblical story with the community!"
